This elegant pattern is copied from the Greek and Etruscan vases, and is used by Wedgwood in its several varieties in relief, in encaustic painting, and occasionally in enameL It consists of a repetition of spiral forms, so connected as to somewhat resemble the outline of crested waves. It may be seen on many fine vases and their plinths.
