El óxido de sodio (Na20), en un fundente alcalino desde media temperatura, tiene un punto de fusión sobre los 1130ºC (comienza a ser efectivo a 900ºC) y un alto ratio expansión contracción, por lo que produce craquelados. Como mas activo en media, se encuentra la nefelina sienita, que es un feldespatoide.
